Families
One of the most important considerations for a parent or family member is to ensure that a loved one receives the best possible support when needed.
We work together to support you and your loved one throughout the whole process of evaluating our services, visiting, moving in, and then leading a happy and fulfilling life of their choosing.
At House Martins we understand the part you and your family play in your loved one’s care and support. Everybody’s experiences and needs are different and we can deliver a bespoke, safe and caring approach where you’re fully involved in decisions and in helping your loved one to live a fulfilling life.
Our Values
The values that underpin our service demonstrate our commitment to do the best for the people we support, their families and the commissioning authority.
Choice: People should be supported by the service in making both major life and day to day decisions. Choice involves promoting autonomy, self expression, individuality and preserving rights.
Reliability and Professionalism: we always aim to be known for our reliability and professionalism and we work to exceed expectations.
Community Presence: Every person with a learning disability should be supported to live in the community, in a home of their choosing that fits into the surrounding neighbourhood, and use the day to day facilities available in the locality e.g. shops, post office, pubs etc. We will do our utmost to facilitate this.
Status and Respect: We work at encouraging each person to present themselves in such a way as to promote their own self-esteem and image.
Honesty and Integrity: Along with trying our best we are committed to always being transparent and open in what we do.
Competence: Every person should be given opportunities to increase their competence and develop. We are committed through our training and coaching to supporting everyone to reach their potential.
How we are regulated
House Martins takes the safety and care of the people we support extremely seriously. All our services are inspected twice a year by our Registered Manager. Our services are all registered with the relevant external care regulator where needed, which regularly monitors and inspects each service too.
This combined approach helps to ensure that the people we support receive the quality care they deserve at all times. We are also inspected in terms of Food Hygiene, Infection Control, Fire Safety, Gas Safety and Electrical Safety.
